Why a Support System for Women with Endometriosis Means Everything
Sharing my last blog post about living with endometriosis was one of the most vulnerable things I’ve ever done. I wasn’t sure what kind of response to expect—if any. I honestly thought it might get lost in the noise. But instead, what happened reminded me exactly why having a support system for women with endometriosis and chronic illness is so important.
Writing about my experience was emotional. Endometriosis isn’t just a medical condition—it’s a daily battle that impacts your body, your mind, and your identity. It felt scary to put something so personal out into the world, especially a topic that is still often misunderstood or overlooked. But the outpouring of love, support, and shared stories completely overwhelmed me—in the best way. I am so incredibly grateful for everyone who took the time to read, message, or reach out with kind words and encouragement.
As someone living with endometriosis, the feedback I received was more than just validation—it was a reminder that I’m not alone. Whether it was someone sharing their own diagnosis, offering emotional support for women like me, or simply sending love and prayers, every message reminded me how healing community can be. This is the power of a real, genuine support system for women with endometriosis—the kind that lifts you up when things feel impossible.
There were moments reading your messages that truly brought me to tears. Some told me they finally felt seen. Others opened up about their own invisible battles with chronic illness. Those connections helped ease a loneliness I often carry, even when surrounded by people. Chronic conditions like endometriosis can be incredibly isolating, especially when symptoms are invisible or misunderstood. But every word you shared made me feel more connected, understood, and empowered.
Over time, I’ve become more protective of my energy. I’ve distanced myself from toxic relationships and made space for the kind of people who genuinely support and uplift me. That decision has changed my life. Surrounding myself with positive energy has done wonders for my mental health and endometriosis journey. I now know who’s truly in my corner—and those are the people I cherish deeply. Creating boundaries and choosing intentional relationships is a key part of building a meaningful support system for women dealing with chronic illness.
This love and support fuels everything I do with Studio Dessy. My work as a photographer is rooted in connection, emotion, and storytelling. Every maternity or family session I shoot is filled with intention because I know how much strength it takes just to show up some days. Knowing I have a support system behind me—and that my story resonates with others—is what keeps me going. It fuels my creativity, deepens my empathy, and reminds me that this business was built from something real.
Photography with meaning is what I strive for, and the encouragement I’ve received reaffirms why I do what I do. Studio Dessy isn’t just a photography business—it’s a reflection of my journey, my heart, and my desire to create space for others to feel seen and celebrated.
So, thank you. Truly. Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for being part of my support system, and for supporting women like me who are living with endometriosis and fighting to turn pain into purpose. Your kind words have made a lasting impact, and I’m so grateful to have this community around me.
